Mr. Big Apple-Ghouls, Goblins and the Ghost of Amy Winehouse at the Greenwich Village 2011 Halloween Parade
Hello Miss Lopez readers, It’s Mr. Big Apple bringing you a bite of the big apple. Fancy you’re on a trip to New York and happen to be here for Halloween? You should definitely check out the Greenwich Village Halloween Parade which happens every year on October 31 on 6th Avenue from Spring Street to 16th Street from 7:00pm – 10:30pm.
This being the first time I’ve been to the NYC Halloween parade, I must say I was amazed at the shear diversity and complexity of the costumes, floats and dance routines. There were a plethora of different costumes, ranging from the daring, tasteful, tasteless (I’m looking at you Steve Jobbs dead carcass) to exotic. Besides the Amy Winehouses, Snookis, Gadhafis, Zombie Wall Street Bankers, you could feel the melting pot.
There was a whole samba dance troupe braving a crisp autumn evening in skimpy Carnival outfits, zombie mariachis performing a ranchera from beyond the grave to the bevy of young Japanese girls dressed as vintage Pan Am stewardesses to a giant Chinese dragon bringing a taste of Chinatown.
Hands down my favorite routing was the Thriller reenactment. There were 50 people dressed in zombie costumes with tight choreography with even a vintage Michael Jackson and with a leading lady in toe. That’s what I love about New York. On days like Halloween, we pull out all the stops and let it all hang out, literally. Next time you’re in New York City during Halloween, be sure to check this wonderful and free event out!
Got my tuxedo ready for my next post, I’m heading to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. I’m reporting from POP! The Apollo circle benefit hosted by the world renowned designer Carolina Herrera.
I must remember not to eat fish; I don’t think Carolina would enjoy my baby fish mouth

Miss Miranda fashion tips: Find the perfect outfit for your journey
Hello everyone!! This is MissMiranda, Miss Lopez´s guest blogger directly from Italy!
After 12 hours journey from A Coruña, Galicia in Spain, I finally got home in Italiy where I am studing at University. Since I took the first flight I realised that packing is not an easy task, even more decide what you’re going to wear for the whole day.
From my point of view, you should wear clothes that really fit you, so the perfect solution, is wearing a big coat, warm and trendy that can hide what you’re wearing under it. Then, use your imagination and that stuff that can’t fit in your suitcase, for example bracelets, medium-heel boots and scarves. By using these accessories you also can express your own emotions and feelings, and don’t forget that you’re taking a plane so something new is going to happen! We are women and we deserve it!
In the picture you can see my own idea, i hope you like it
It was a long journey, but I’m really happy that I’m back to Italy. I really like this country, and studying my Erasmus here is going to help to understand another way of fashion, “The italian way”. From the beginning I thought that they had a huge mess in the fashion world, but now, after the Christmas break I’m going to try to get in to Italian fashion world and tell you about all I see.
And remember, Feelgood Womanhood!!!
See you tomorrow with more news with a Latin touch from Italy. Ciao bellos!
Ciao raggazze (L)

Travel with style!
Hola chicos y chicas!
It is Tuesday and in only five days I will be sitting on a plane to the warm, sunny coast of Uruguay. There I will spend five marvellous weeks enjoying the sun, the beaches and the many adventures South America has to offer! I did however have one small problem I needed to solve before I left and that was: What should I pack for my trip? And what sort of travel bag should I carry with me?
Luckily, I found some great inspiration pictures from Louis Vitton that helped me put things more clearly. Personally, I am a real Louis Vitton kind-of-girl and an eternal bunkerer of accessories, so I need lots of room in my bag for both clothes, shoes, and all those little things that are so necessary for a trip (what would life be without cotton tops for once?!) Therefore, a bag of this size would fit me perfectly! If you are anything like me, you will find these images just as inspiring. The question is: How far are you willing to go to travel with style and grandeur? And are you a real LV girl?
Think about it until next time;-) Hasta luego!
