Miss Barcelona in Holland-Travel tips from Amsterdam

Hola amigos, Miss Barcelona is back from one of the most exciting cities I have been so far: AMSTERDAM!! ;-)

Amsterdam is an amazing city full of life with a lot of picturesque places to see and enjoy of its beauty and tons of activities to choose from for all tastes, from cultural activities to leisure ones.

To star with I recommend you to visit the tourist office site for Amsterdam, there you can find a lot of valuable information before you actually arrived to the city and that will allow you to plan better. I have to thank Nicole from the tourist office for all her unplayable help while visiting Amsterdam!! Look at all the information she provide! maps, brochures, the IAmsterdam city card, etc.

And I have to say that I highly recommend to get this card, it gives you entrance to 37 museums in the city!!!, transportation in Amsterdam, canal tours, discounts in more than 40 different activities and 24 restaurants!!! plus several surprises, free gifts or treats in more than 10 stores and bars around the city!!!

You canget it for 24, 48 or 72 hours for only 39€, 49€, or 59€ respectively, very good value if you think of everything you get with it, try and count how much you would spend separately only in museums and transportation!!!

The first day we just walk around the city in order to get it’s amazing vibe, people everywhere!! from all corners of the world, I have to say that we saw a lot of Spanish friends there, I love it!!

As you can see in the second picture, it seems to be very common to take a boat, own or rented, and go around the canals while having a little party, isn’t it super cool? I love this way of living, so relaxed and spontaneous!! Imagine ,y friends that after work, you could jump in a boat and forget about your week at work, all those clients that you couldn’t reach, all the frustrations of unaccomplished work just going under the water while you have fun with you friends along the canals. Simply wonderful!! ;-)

Finally if you can’t get on a boat and party around the canals, this is something you would definitely enjoy; what about a relaxing walk and picnic at Vondelpark.

The Vondelpark is a public park with 47 hectares located in the stadsdeel Amsterdam Oud-Zuid, west from the Leidseplein(center) and the Museumplein( square near the Van Gogh and Rijsk museums). The park was opened in 1865 and originally named the “Nieuwe Park”, butit was renamed  Vondelpark, after the 17th century author Joost van den Vondel, considered  the greatest Dutch epic.

This is a beautiful green area in the middle of the city that has around 10 million visitors per year!!. You can also find in the park a film museum, an open air theatre and several cafes and restaurants. It was fantastic to lay on the grass and be a witness of peoples hapiness while in the park. VIVA VONDELPARK!!! And VIVA AMSTERDAM!!

Stay connected to Miss Lopez for more information about Amsterdam, always, with a Latin touch. VIVA LATIN TOUCH!!
