Posh swap!!! shopping vintage. Viva Coolhunting!!!

Hola everybody!

I love buying good vintage clothes, bags, shoes, furniture…you name it! and now I will share some of my personal tips to succeed on your next vintage hunt.

  • Size: Don’t be put off if you find something you love but it is the wrong size. The chances of finding gorgeous things in the perfect size for you is very slim, so instead find the things you like, and customize them to make them fit!
  • Time is off the essense: Find out when your charity stocks up, and call in as close to that time as you can. Also research vintage fairs in your area, and make sure you are there when they open. The best pieces will go fast, so it’s worth your time.
  • Check the quality: Look carefully at what makes up the piece, and what condition it is in. Some pieces are just so fragile that one wash will ruin them, so while they might still be worth the buy, make sure the price reflects the quality.
  • Customize: I once found a beautiful dress, covered in badges, buttons and flowers. The dress itself was tired and worn out, but I used the accessories to brighten up other old vintage items, and give them a new lease of life. Keep your eye out for this type of thing!

Vintage shopping is so worth while when you find that dream piece, and know that no one else will have anything like it! You can pass it down through your generations if you look after it, too, and who knows, one day it might be worth millions. Marineda City, another reason for Miss Lopez and You to visit A Coruña!

Hola, hola, hola, Miss Marisol here, from La Coruña, Spain. Yesterday, I finally made it to Marineda City, the new shopping center in town. After living in Minnesota, USA, land of the “Mall of America”(one of the biggest shopping malls in the world), I feel I can say I know shopping malls pretty well! :) I am both American and Spanish. Cool!! :)

By the way, I am so happy my old friend Isabel, I mean Miss Lopez living in Sweden, Stockholm is coming to A Coruña to spend the entire month of August, in our home town! And, I believe Miss Miranda´s as well… We just need to hear from Miss Marisa and hope she comes to Coruña in August too! Isn´t it amazing we all are bloggers from A Coruña?. There must be something special about A Coruña! :) Try it yourself, you´ll love it!

Marineda City Leisure, Shopping & Business Centre is the largest commercial complex in Spain and third largest in all of Europe!. Marineda City is located a few minutes south from downtown La Coruña, my home town, in beautiful Galicia, Spain. The city hosts the most important financial, textile and distribution companies, which makes La Coruña one of the richest areas in Galicia.

Amongst its infrastructure stands an international airport, Spain’s densest bus network and one of the most important ports in Europe .Due to its size, unique until today in Galicia, its wide retail offer and its excellent communications, Marineda City’s area of influence reaches up to 200 km, covering a target market of 2.800.000 people.
Marineda City shopping centre has 230 retail units, a wide variety of restaurants and leisure businesses, a 13 screen cinema, bowling alley, children’s playground, an ice skating rink a karting center etc, Renowned big-box stores like Bricor, Corte Ingles, Hipercor, Decathlon, Worten etc. National and international fashion brands, exclusive fashion brands, home, furnishing, decoration, beauty etc like ZARA (with all its varieties),UTERQUE, ALDO, MANGO, .FOOT LOCKER, CARAMELO, TOUS, H&M, SEPHORA, KIKO, among many others. High-end stores offer and a distinctive decoration differentiates Marineda City from other Shopping Centers.
Last but not least, our fave, IKEA is just across the mall in Marineda City.

Miss Miranda goes shopping in Ancona

Hola chicos y chicas! Miss Miranda from Spain again brings you the Italian fashion news!

Today I have been shopping in Ancona. It’s an amazing city in the Adriatic coast, just in front of Croatia!!! There’s a street called Via Garibaldi where you can find many Italian and International stores. I went there with my Polish friends looping for some bargains… but I think that in Italy there’re some problems with sales concept. They just indicate the discount, then I think they increase the old price, so there’s no bargains at all!!! I hope that in your countries sales are better than here because I love going shopping just to find that garment that I’ve been looking for at a really good price!! Don’t you?? :)

Today I wore this casual outfit to feel comfortable for the trip and be able to walk (so no heels…). The leather jacket is from Massimo Dutti, the trousers and the shirt from Zara, the creamy handbag (perfect bag for shopping!! You can put everything inside!) is from a Spanish label called Purificación García and the scarf also from an Spanish label, Loewe.

I hope you like it and have fun tonight!

Viva Spanish brands all over the world and Feelgood Womanhood!!!

Besos y abrazos from Italy
