Miss Barcelona- Restaurant tips for your vacation II
Hola amigos, Miss Barcelona is back with more tips for your vacation. VIVA VACATION!!
The last time I recommended to you a very fancy restaurant, but there are also very typical tapas restaurants in Barcelona that even tough not as Fancy as Tickets bar are incredibly good!!!
If you are in Barcelona or you have visit it for more than a week you probably had been in this classic of Barceloneta’s neighborhood, I am talking about LA CHAMPANYERIA, located in C/ de la Reina Cristina 7 in the old harbor and very close to the beach.
For the ones that haven’t been there you definitely HAVE to pay it a visit at least once during your stay in Barcelona, why?
What about this: a traditional medieval “tasca” where they only serve the best “embutidos”, sausages, Spanish ham, Manchego cheese and the best homemade sparkling wine you can imagine.
I’m not done yet, you can enjoy of two delicious “bocadillos” and a bottle of “champañillo” for only 5€, yes you read correctly, even nowadays you can find bargains like this and still enjoy of top quality food and drinks, how can they do that, you may wonder?
This is a place that had been open to the public since 1969 and since their opening they had always attracted tons of people on a daily basis, and they also produce the wine themselves so they can reduce the costs without compromising the quality of their products. VIVA GOOD TAPAS!!!
If you are still skeptical just pay a visit to this incredibly place, and you will see the crowd standing outside the establishment, that is why I recommend you to go early, very early, if you go from 3 to 5 it’s very possible that you find a place close to the bar to stand up. You also want to go there before 5 so you can be able to buy the “bocadillos” and the bottle since from 5pm only individual glasses are served, but hey, that doesn’t matter qué siga la fiesta!!!
It’s closed on Sundays and the rest of the days it opens from 9 to 22:30. Normally it is very crowded at all hours, especially during the summer and on the weekends, but don’t be shy the atmosphere is very friendly, don’t be surprised if your glass gets refilled by the neighbor’s bottle and it’s more that probable that you leave with some new friends to continue la fiesta in the city.
I can guarantee that you will leave La Champanyeria, tipsy, satisfy, with new friends and plenty of money left on your wallet!! So amigos, enjoy of your vacation in Barcelona, make new friends and feel good. VIVA FRIENDLY PEOPLE!!!
One more tip, you can buy bottles to take away or even better you can order them but only if you buy a minimum of 2 boxes of 6 bottles, they will be deliver them in between two days.
