Miss Lopez´s news: Cooking for progress with Ferrán Adriá & more. Food to change de world!
Hello amigos & amigas! For sure you have heard the expression “food is love” or “you´re what you eat”. I believe there must be some truth in it, don´t you? And the best of all comes when you combine food & creativity, to change the world too! Miss Lopez loves Love
I mean Food! in order to Feelgood… of course!
You know the best restaurant in the world, El Bulli from Barcelona with Spanish Ferrán Adriá is just closed but soon in 2014 El Bulli Foundation is coming. Look what I found out! The mission of this foundation is to breed new ideas, teaching new ways of cooking just as they do at normal universities. The kitchen of the future! It´s about getting food inspiration from all cuisines around the world. I´ve heard El Bulli has got a lot of inspiration from Japan. This is the Haute cuisine like in Fashion! Food for creativity!
The Bulli Foundation shall consist of a selection of students from the best schools worldwide, that will pass through the eyes of a jury set up by people of great international prestige as the Nobel laureate economist Joseph Stiglitz. Cool! In the words of Adrià: “The students compete against me and against the ideas of the future that I have in my head.”
And what about Food for Thought? . This is a new concept & Swedish company by Josefin Uhnbom, the founder, with the goal of building a profitable business to create meaningful work and sustained employment for long-term unemployed. Specially for women in need outside Sweden. Food for Thought will be working closely with stakeholders in the private, public and voluntary sectors. Josefin Uhnbom works with social entrepreneurship at SE Forum as well. Cool!
Check Josefin talking to the crowd at The Hub, Stockholm.
Nice with creativity for a good reason! I love it!
Viva food for doing good so feelgood! and cooking for progress to change the world!!!
FEELGOOD WOMANHOOD everybody! by Miss López
Miss Lopez´s avant garde cuisine tips at Easter: Enjoy world´s best restaurants in Spain!
Hola amigos! MISS LOPEZ here again after writing and reading all day in Sweden. I have things to write so I decided this time it´s perfect! How is your Holy Friday going? I remmember this day as a child in Spain going to the church really to tell you the truth and not eating meat as it´s Friday according to Catholic…or going to nice beaches in Galicia, Spain.
Well long time ago but still remmember this day to celebrate it in a more religious way. Check it out http://www.spain.info/en/reportajes/la_semana_santa_en_espana.html
Whatever I promise you can enjoy the most RELIGIOUS experience in terms of avant garde cuisine in Spain these days. In fact at the cuisine awards ’50 Best restaurants in the world”, according to the influential British magazine ‘Restaurant Magazine‘, the second and the third award of this list are in Spain. Cool!
… The first prize went to the Danish Noma! Indeed, as pointed as many pools, the place by the chef Danish René Redzepi ranks second for consecutive year at the top of the list . A young teacher much in the line of Ferran Adria who, incidentally, led this ranking since 2006 until last year (which fell to number two) and this time is not on list because of the inminent closure of El Bulli next July ( Foundation for processing.) The genius Ferrán Adriá in the first picture by the way.
This does not mean however, a loss of hegemony of the Spanish avant-garde cuisine. Quite the contrary. And among the top ten Spanish restaurants are three : El Celler de Can Roca (Girona), in the picture which placed in second place on the podium, the Basque Mugaritz that scales other two posts getting the bronze medal, and eighth in the list, the veteran Arzak, which goes one step over 2010.
So here it comes the top ten ranking made up by the jury for this prestigious and influential international award as follows :
1. Noma (Denmark).
2. El Celler de Can Roca (Spain).
3. Mugaritz (Spain).
4. Osteria Franciscan (Italy).
5. The Fat Duck (UK).
6. Aliena (USA).
7. DOM (Brazil).
8. Arzak (Spain).
9. Le Chateaubriand (France).
10. Per Se (USA).
If you want a full list can do so at the web Official The World’s 50 Best Restaurant Awards . See another very good reason to visit Spain, to eat at the best restaurants in the world!! Cool! Viva the good cuisine
